I took the “Monday ukulele players” group up to the Main Ridge Petanque Club on Friday 16th March to provide pre-dinner entertainment. Being St Patrick’s eve the theme was Celtic of course.
We first played at the Kite Festival four years ago. At that stage we were a newly formed group and still finding our feet. Fast forward 4 years….
The Rye Beach Bridge Club will be holding their Annual Congress in the big hall at the Rosebud Memorial Hall over the weekend of March 10th and 11th. The Swiss Pairs competition will be held on Saturday afternoon and SPUKES will entertain during their afternoon break.
There was plenty of colour added to an excellent performance by 38 of our players at Ti Tree Lodge. Nearly everyone followed the dress code and sported Hawaiian or tropical garb along with leis and appropriate hats!
Two events are coming up before Easter – Hawaiian day at Ti Tree Lodge and the Rosebud Kite Festival.
Mt Gambier’s B.L.U.E’s Uke Fest has concerts, workshops and plenty of performance opportunities for soloist, duets and small groups.
At the Dromana Australia Day festivities SPUKES was the first act following the official opening and the flag raising. We had an enthusiastic crowd singing along as we played.
SPUKES played at the Rosebud Christmas parade and soon soon had an appreciative crowd singing along with us.
